Ecosystem Alliance
Bringing ecologists and designers together for biodiversity restoration
Biodiversity loss is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and no single discipline can tackle it alone. We believe collaboration is essential. Collaboration is key to our collective futures. By connecting people, knowledge and practice we can create lasting solutions for our shared future.
Through working in interdisciplinary partnerships, we can respond from a whole systems perspective to complex ecological challenges, advancing our shared practices and supporting ecosystem restoration with greater care and creativity. Collaboration between ecologists and designers helps us see challenges differently, strengthens our practices, and enables us to create more responsible and resilient solutions for ecosystems.
We aim to connect the disciplines design and ecology to help regenerate the systems we all depend on. By equipping designers and ecologists with methods and conditions to collaborate across disciplines, we place biodiversity and ecosystem health at the heart of creative and scientific practice. Through research, mentoring, training, and gatherings, we nurture the skills, knowledge, and alliances needed to restore living systems and reimagine how we work with nature.

“We are not apart from the land, but a part of it, one thread in the vast ecological fabric, our strength and meaning are drawn from the whole.” (Leopold 1949)
